Frofrororos

My children are addicted to Ferrero Rocher. I don’t remember how it happened—it’s not as though I typically buy them nice chocolate—but ever since the first once, they’ve adored them. They also call them “frofrororos,” which I find hilarious.

Naturally, the Easter Bunny is expected to come through with some frofrororos. And it turns out that this 48-piece Ferrero Rocher box is winter holiday branded and therefore marked down to $15.95 shipped (with Prime), as compared to the 13-piece Ferrero Rocher in a bunny box which is $3 more. Hmmm… $16 for 48 pieces or $19 for 13 pieces? Decisions, decisions!

The Easter Bunny is good at math, and doesn’t mind putting the individual frofrororos into plastic eggs, making the Christmas packaging a moot point. That Easter Bunny is smart.

Minty!

Got gum? Amazon does—in fact, they have 24 packs of Eclipse gum available right now for $7.20 shipped if you have Prime. That’s just $.30/pack!

My kids are gum fiends. Maybe their Easter baskets will be full of Eclipse, this year.

The cure for need-some-Indian-food blues

Frequent grocery shoppers at Amazon have already noticed that things have been changing, lately. There aren’t as many grocery specials, for one, and oftentimes the Subscribe & Save discount is now reduced to an additional 5% instead of 15%. (Dear Amazon: Boooooooo. That is all. Love, Mir.) This is sad, and means my overflow pantry—the one usually full of boxes from Amazon—isn’t quite so overflowing, these days.

But don’t give up hope! There are still periodic deals to be found. And those of us who love Kitchens of India can have a party in the Gold Box today, because they’ve got great prices on all sorts of options. The problem, of course, is that several items are already sold out, but many items can be ordered even if unavailable, you just can’t score the extra Subscribe & Save savings (which is frankly annoying because part of the deal is supposed to be that additional 15%).

Anyway, definitely worth a look if you love their food, which we do.

Now I want brownies

None of these for me, I’m afraid (oh, gluten, how I miss you!), but if you must do a boxed brownie mix, make it gourmet with these Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownies mixes, currently just $7.75 shipped for 4 boxes from Amazon, when you buy via Subscribe & Save.

These are normally around $6/box at my grocery store, so this is quite the steal if you want four boxes of mix. And if you’ve ever had these, trust me, you do.

Almond butter on the run

I was just telling someone the other day about how Justin’s Nut Butters makes these squeeze packs that are perfect for hits of protein on the run (assuming you and yours are good with nuts), and so today I went looking for them on Amazon and ended up pretty much going, “Whoa, those are pricy. Nevermind.”

But then I found this: A 24-pack of Barney Butter Almond Butter for just $8.32 shipped when you buy via Subscribe & Save. I… think it might be a price mistake, frankly.

But portable hits of high-protein and “good” fats for under $.35/each? I’m buying two.

I swear, my intentions were good

So I was just at Amazon stocking up on GoGo SqueeZ applesauce pouches, because my kids love them, and I love shelf-stable all-natural fruit that costs less than $.45/serving. (Buy it via Subscribe & Save right now and you’ll get 48 pouches for $21.37 shipped.)

I didn’t intend to buy cookies. Honest! But, um, when I see what are basically organic Oreos on sale, how can I be expected to resist? Right now they have both Newman’s Own Organics Original Vanilla Creme and Mint Creme cookies available for just $12.08 shipped for 6 packages. I’m just sayin’.

A few Saturday deals

(Once again—though you are probably sick of me saying so—I know the last week or two things have been spotty around here as I deal with some more pressing matters outside of the computer, and I appreciate your patience.)

Here’s a few deals for the weekend to keep you happy and frugal:

This weekend at 6pm.com you can get Converse and Keens for up to 70% off! Get those summer sandals now, before the prices go back up.

Children’s Place is going another Buy More, Get More event—take 20% off any order with coupon code W2G2012, 25% off your $50+ order with coupon code V2G2012, or 30% off your $60+ order with coupon code U2G2012.

Get free shipping on every order all weekend long at American Eagle, 77 Kids, and Aerie. In addition, American Eagle and Aerie are taking an automatic additional 40% off clearance prices, and 77 Kids is taking an extra 30% off their clearance.

Today only, you can use coupon code GAPEVENT over at—obviously—Gap to take 25% off your purchase.

Save 20% on most departments (10% on others) this weekend at Macy’s with coupon code RED, plus don’t forget that all orders of $99+ automatically ship for free.

Need a yummy Valentine’s Day gift? Shop Harry and David right now and you can take 20% off your order with coupon code VAL20.

Aaaaand… now I want a pear. Darnitall. (Pro tip: Never post Harry and David deals on an empty stomach.)

Heads up, K-Cup users

I know that for many of you with Keurigs, life is merely a series of scavenger hunts for a good deal on K-cups. Heh. If that sounds familiar, you might want to check out Eversave today—they’ve got a deal where $17 gets you $35 to spend at Coffee For Less, and that’s a great way to score some K-cups for way less than the usual price.

(They have coffee in all forms, actually, but it’s the K-cups that caught my eye.)

Shipping is a flat rate of $5.95, or get free shipping on $45+. I’m sure you can figure out how to wrangle the best deal with your $35 voucher, because you’re smart like that.

Positively nuts

This one obviously isn’t for those dealing with peanut allergies, but… I have a new true love. It’s powdered peanut butter, and yes, when I first heard of it my response was, “Ewwwww…?”

But the thing is, it’s genius. It’s shelf-stable, low in fat and calories, and high in protein. It’s perfect for smoothies, granola, cookies… I could go on and on, but I’ll stop. In short: Good stuff.

And right now Amazon has a 16-ounce bag of powdered peanut butter for $11, and that’s eligible for Prime or Super Saver Shipping. That’s the cheapest price it’s ever been, and if you love peanut butter, I’d jump on it.

(Now if someone would just make powdered chocolate with 85% fewer calories and all the taste, my life would be complete.)

You’re all very pretty

Thanks for bearing with me, this week. You all look gorgeous today, and I love your shoes. Hopefully our regular programming will return in a few days, but I know things have been sporadic and appreciate that no one has complained.

A few deals before I go spend my day running around in the woods with my son’s class:

Amazon’s Gold Box Deal today is a deep discount on Popchips, one of our favorite lunchbox snacks! Combine the discounted price with Subscribe & Save to get the lowest price and free shipping.

The grab bags in the Outlet at Burt’s Bees are all the way down to just $15, now, and coupon code SPRING12 is working for $5 off $25 if you want to buy a couple of them. Shipping is $6. (Site is moving slowly, be patient.)[Edited to add: Coupon code 5FREESHIP appears to be taking off $5 and giving free shipping on any order!]

The 16-packs fo Hanger Buddiez over at Kids.Woot today is slaying me with the cuteness. That would be perfect as part of a baby shower gift. (I am partial to the Monster Pack, but they’re all adorable.)

Over at Tanga, they’ve got Everyday with Rachael Ray Magazine available for $24/year, but when I put it in my cart it dropped down to $4.99 and I’m not sure why. If it doesn’t automatically discount for you, try adding code EVERYDAY to get it at that price. And you can order up to 4 years at that price!

I see the Gap family of stores is back to different coupons for every store (all the better to confuse you, my dears!), but here you go: If you’re shopping Old Navy, use code ONTAKE15 today for 15% off everything; if you’re shopping Gap, use code GAPFUN for an additional 30% off sale items; at Banana Republic use code BRJANUARY for 25% off anything. (Got that? Me neither.)

Again, thanks for bearing with me lately. Y’all are super pretty.
